AVATAR
I have to tell you, this movie is amazing. No matter what you've been told, or who you've been told by...friend/lover/neighbor/boss...it doesn't matter. If someone has told you this movie is no good, you should wonder if they are still mentally stable.
Now that I have probably just caused half of my readers to leave the site, never to return, this movie definitely rocks socks.
At 162 minutes, this movie takes you through gorgeous landscapes and shots of breathtaking beauty. The mind has trouble taking it all in, there are so much vibrant color and textures. After you get past gawking at the world the graphic artists created for us, you start paying attention to the little things...like the plot.
The plot is simple. Humans come, humans talk, humans take, humans go. Typical and done before, right? Hell no! The plot is simple enough to understand and for once the humans are portrayed correctly as the villains. The humans are after ore under the surface of Pandora...and are prepared to do whatever it takes to get at it. The Na'vi aren't gonna go down without a fight though, and our hero gets thrust in between two worlds - both of which he doesn't really belong to.
I am not going to go into immense detail on this one, due to the content.
